How to do Nail Art at Home

When using press-on nail art, make sure you plan carefully. When you are choosing what piece of art to press on, make sure it will show up on the color polish you’re currently rocking. Oh, and for goodness sake, make sure your polish is dried! This can be disastrous on all accounts!

Jewels: The most important thing to remember about using gems or jewels on your fingernails or toenails is to apply and use the glue correctly. A little hint: press on jewels just won’t work, so move on to the ones that require glue. Then use that glue EXACTLY as directed to avoid globbing, clumping and an overall unattractive look. Also make sure you plan ahead, because moving the gems is like moving acrylics after they dry – impossible without ruining the whole mani/pedi.

Beautiful Blue Nail Art

Nail art is a seemingly simple subject. However, with the many different options that come along with nail art in today’s time as well as the emerging ones, it can be quite confusing. Nail art really can mean anything from polishing your nails to having them airbrushed at a salon in a beautiful design. How to do nail art at home, however, narrows down the subject just a bit.

How do women use rhinestones for nails?

Rhinestones for nails can be applied in several ways, depending on the type of gem. Some rhinestones for nails are self-adhesive and some need to be applied using glue. For beginner’s practicing simple nail designs for the first time, self-adhesive rhinestones are best. Advanced nail fanatics may prefer applying rhinestones for nails with glue because they are more durable. Some women decide not to use glue at all and find it easier to just use wet nail polish.

To apply the rhinestones, spread them out on your table or on a plate. Rhinestones are very small and difficult to pick up, so spreading them apart before creating your simple nail designs will make things less arduous. The rhinestones should also be facing upwards for easy application. Next, apply nail polish to your nails and create your simple nail designs. Now, take a toothpick and dip the tip of it into some clear nail polish. Using the tip of the toothpick, pick up one of the rhinestones and place it on your nail. If your nail polish is still wet, the rhinestone will release easily. Press down on the rhinestone gently with your finger to keep it in place. Repeat the process until all of your rhinestones for nails have been set. Finally, apply a clear top of nail polish to your nails to keep the rhinestones in place. Here are a few ideas for inspiration.

Funk Up With Beautiful Nail Art

Fashion
has taken a major twist, style is not ordinary or only extra ordinary anymore either. It is more about what catches the eye; it is about the wow in your style. Nails contribute to the look just as everything else does. From nail polish it is time to move on to something funkier like nail art.Spicing up your look is what style is all about. Nail art can be done professionally too but here are some easy do yourself nail art pointers. Get your material ready and sit down to style your hands with nail art. Give your nails a base coat. For nail art set your canvas the nail with a neutral color. After it has dried you are ready to let your creativity go wild. Use bold colors or patterns or tattoo designs. It is your nail! It is your nail art!

Once, your nail art has dried, paint your nail with a clear shine or acrylic. And keep repainting this coat every few days to keep your nail art looking fresh.
Nail art is not only for professionals, you can funk up your hands yourself now. Play around with colors and designs and let your nails speak out loud as well.

The Winter Blues French Nail Manicure

The Winter Blues French Nail Manicure

When the weather outside is dreary, you can relax knowing that your nails look great! You probably do not always create simple nail designs during the winter, but the truth is that there are many fun designs waiting for your nails. How about a play on the original French nail manicure? Using monochromatic blues, you too can celebrate the season with good cheer.

Become an ice goddess with this lovely play on the French nail manicure. Right away, you will notice three distinct differences.

The first difference is the use of color. While the French nail manicure presents a natural look, our winter blues look is well, blue. An ocean blue is used as the base and a cotton candy blue for the nail tip. Finding the cotton candy color may prove more difficult, but you can always use a baby blue.

The second difference is the line, which divides the nail tip from the nail base. A French nail manicure line is usually silver, if any line is used at all. To achieve this simple nail design look, you can use a blue glitter nail art brush or even try silver. If using blue, draw a white line first, and then go over it with the blue glitter. Otherwise, the blue glitter will not show up against the blue nail polish.

The final difference is the angle of the glitter line. A French nail manicure has a straight or slightly curved line to it. This line is clearly angled. The angle occurs to the left of the nail. I would suggest drawing the angled line first before doing anything else. Then fill in the ocean blue. And then the baby blue for the nail tip. That way, you are just coloring in the lines so to speak for the rest of the design.

Simple Nail Art for Cold Weather

Although women tend to neglect their nails during the colder months, it is the most important time to take care of your nails! As you know, the cold air will dry out your skin. So make sure to lotion up. If you are feeling very ambitious, creating simple nail designs for the winter will make you standout for the crowd. It also gives you a chance to experiment with darker and bolder colors.

To achieve this look:

• Paint your nails black. You can also experiment with different color backgrounds to change the dominant color for these simple nail designs.
• Take winter blue glitter nail polish and generously apply it in spurts on your nails.
• Taking dark green glitter, fill in the gaps. Make sure to allow some black nail polish to show through your nails.
• Using a white nail art brush, make spider web-like motions on each of your nails. You may want to practice on paper first. Basically, you are making several white lines that curve. Each line connects to at least one other line. The best way to do this is to start with one line in the idle of your nail. Then, extend another line from that one and so on. The easiest way is to just look at the picture and copy what you see.

The Intricate Science Of Nail Art

The Intricate Science Of Nail Art

Beautiful! That looks really like a lot of work, this artwork on your nails! "Gold × Camellia," designed for kimono occasions by Megumi Furukawa of "1st Choice Nails."

The Japanese nail art scene is presumably one of the most vibrants in the world. Why? Look at the hordes of Shibuya garu that practically live to care about their looks! It has to be more than just nail stickers for casual nail fashion; salons are dotted all about town to enhance you with the most elaborately designed nail chips. Today, PingMag had our nails done by Megumi Furukawa of 1st Choice Nails and asked her all about creative stereoscopic nail art!

Nail chips habitually used by many women (and some men, of course) are artificial nails with stylish designs that only need to be glued to your natural nails to glam up the fingertips. Many of Megumi’s nail chips are designed with a sense of season or with different styles to suit a variety of fashions just like jewellery and accessories.

White (plastic) wedding! A set of made-to-order nail chips called “Real Lace × White Rose.” Apparently, very popular for this special occasion.

To Match the Overall Appearance

Megumi says: “When I think of a design, I’m most inspired by large-scale needlework shops, where I can expand my images just by looking at laceworks and needlecraft supplies. For made-to-order nail chips, I usually ask for a photo of the actual dress or kimono the client is going to wear and then think of the image, colours, and the overall design to suit the client’s request.”

Kawaii! Goldfish swim in softened water colours - over your fingers.

Intricate Sakura, cherry blossoms, all together with a cloisonné nail piece. Oh my!

A traditional pattern based on the colour purple, a noble colour in Japan.

A motif with dolphin illustrations carried over all of the nails.

According to Megumi, though stereoscopic and Japanesque designs are popular over here they are still rare in other countries. That is why foreign visitors are often puzzled to see this delicate art. Look at these works by Megumi Furukawa: nail art on a high level of sophistication!

Wow! Another beautiful, Japanese hydrangea-themed design on a stylish black background.

No Nail Art Boundaries

Megumi Furukawa: “These days, there is no stereotypical thinking on what nail art should be. I usually design something that basically looks cute or something that makes people want to try it on rather than anything eccentric or unique and artistic. Moreover, I would be even happier if men appreciate more women wearing my nail chips and regard that as sexy, charming and sophisticated.”

A walking Christmas tree! A set of Christmas nail chips in a strong festive red. Look at those tiny, delicate frost patterns!

Gorgeous crown jewellery to go with your ball gown!

The Science of Making

3d nail art with stereoscopic designs is made by quickly applying a paint-like substance called ‘mixture’ over the nails and forming the shape you want before drying. When creating designs such as flowers, each part is made individually in advance, then put together and glued on to the nail chip.

Megumi: “3d art takes about three to four minutes to make but more detail requires around twenty minutes. However, a 10-piece set of nail chips with rhinestones and lots of other decorations requires about two hours to make, more elaborate designs even take around three hours to finish.”

“Pink × Black with Cherry” to bring out the beauty of cherry blossoms! Colourful!

This is definitely for a kimono occasion: “Purple × Pink Japanese.” Unfortunately, already sold out!

Megumi Furukawa’s uber stylish designs can instantly change the ambience of people’s hands - what a titillating attraction for feminine psychology! Do the guys agree on that?

Roses! Roses! Roses! How romantic! Need we say more?

Furukawa: “The greatest appeal of nail art lies in its way of allowing women to be feminine. Even a light manicure makes women conscious of their feminine demeanour. This is my greatest pleasure!”

Megumi Furukawa of 1st Choice Nails, thank you very much for your time! You absolutely have to show us more of your beautiful creative nail art.

Simple Nice Nail Art Designs

One of the simplest ways to add a little bit of creativity is to add texture. Glitter polish can be that necessary embellishment to take simple nail designs from ordinary to high fashion. Too much glitter, however, will ruin your design. Toning glitter down with a solid color is the way to go.

Simple Nail Designs with Glitter

The hands featured in the image contain jungle green confetti against a lime green background. The glitter or confetti adds a bit of shimmer and interest to this simple nail design. These hands would really stand out in a photo shoot or demand attention from your clothes. The good thing about simple nail designs is that you can easily select different colors without sacrificing the design. For example, these nails would look lovely if you used bright, red glitter and a baby pink background. It would be just perfect for Valentine's Day. This look is great, too, if you desire a fresh, earthy look.

To achieve this look, do the following:

• Start with your choice of glitter polish first. Paint the tips of your nails with the polish.

• Let the glitter polish dry.

• Apply a solid color nail polish across your nails. Start by painting over half of the glitter nail polish tip (diagonally) and then painting the rest of your bottom nail.

• Finish with clear polish or top coat.

Blue Flower Nail Design

Are you beautifully dressed and wearing your favourite make up? What about some nail design? You are not actually ready to go out until you have stunning fingernail designs.Having beautiful nails is an art. But, who says it cannot be fun? There is a fascinating world of nail art designs for both toenails and fingernails.

Painting your nails with a nail polish design. People from the oriental parts of our globe created the most stunning and innovative pictures on nails. If you have poor painting or drawing abilities, start by creating simple colourful nail polish designs and increase their complexity as you gain confidence.
Decorated nails – As painting someone’s nails was really time consuming and needed a great deal of ability and practice, a simple and fast system was created to get the same stunning results in only minutes. Artificial nails imprinted with beautiful nail designs are a great alternative to stickers.
Sticker nail art – quite fun, but it became too popular and some people may argue that they are out of style.
Round Steel Stencils – they have between 7 and 10 different nail designs and are very useful if you are in a hurry. Just make sure the lower layer is fully dried! They will certainly help women express themselves, even the most conservative ones.
French manicure – One of the most sophisticated fingernail designs. Nails are polished in light pink, beige, lilac or white and the nail tip is polished in extra white polisher. Special kits are sold to do them at home with patterns for the ones who are in a hurry but still want good quality results.
Animal print, flowers or with rhinestones are worn by the most cheeky to catch people’s attention. Some women prefer a low profile and only wear them on one or two nails with a unique fingernail design, usually on their little finger’s nails.

Toenail Designs
If your hands are to look perfect, why not your feet? After thorough pedicure and, if your natural nails don’t allow for a toenail design, stick artificial toe nails. Some of them already come decorated imitating French manicure but in stunning colour schemes such orange, purple, white and red to create that unique look to go with your favourite sandals at the beach!

Manicures and Nail Extensions

The key to having beautiful nail art is to start with beautiful nails. If yours are bitten down to the quick, apply acrylic ones first. Once they are shaped and sculpted, apply a neutral base then start drawing your chosen design with a fine-tipped brush. Cheaters can buy pre-made stick-on gems and other designs, smarter cheaters (with more cash to spare) can have everything done for them by a professional.

Nail Care Preparation

If you already take care of your hands and feet, you may only need to apply lotion before doing your nails. At a minimum, wash your hands or feet and apply lotion. After applying a moisturizing lotion, take a towel and rub it well across each nail. Also use the towel on your hands. This will remove any oils on your nails so the nail art stays in place when you apply it later. Next, you should trim your nails into the shape you want them for your nail designs. Usually, people follow the natural shape of their nails whether that is square, round, or triangular. A nail file can shape and trim your nails easily without removing too much of your nail.

Caring for Your Acrylic Nails

Acrylic nails are one type of artificial nails that you can buy. They are made by mixing a chemical powder with a chemical liquid. The safest and highest quality acrylic nails are made with Ethyl Methacrylate (EMA), however, a less expensive variety of artificial nails that are also safe are made with Methyl Methacrylate (MMA). It is important to buy the highest quality artificial nails because they typically have less of an impact on the natural growth of your real finger nails.

The Beauty of 3D Nail Art

Compared to color nail polish and regular Vancouver manicure and pedicure, the creativity of this art is just special. There is limitation to the conventional nail polish. Although it can be mixed with other colors making artistic drawings or art designs on the nail, Vancouver 3D nails emphasize the beauty of fine art and serve as an extension of my imagination. And being a 3-dimensional design, the materials used protrude from the nail; they pop out, unlike the usual color nail polish.
